Mr. P N Vasudevan is the CEO and Managing Director of Equitas Small Finance Bank Ltd. Prior to this, Mr.Vasudevan was Executive Vice-President and Head-Consumer Banking Group in Development Credit Bank Ltd, based out of Mumbai for one and half years.
Earlier to this, he worked in Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co Ltd, part of the Murugappa Group for 20 years, based out of Chennai.
He had joined as a Management Trainee in 1986, and finally resigned as Vice-President and Business Head there heading all their business lines. He was also the Chairman of the South India Hire Purchase Association during the period 2005-06.
Dr. C K Gariyali is a post graduate in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from the Delhi School of Social Work holds a doctorate in women’s studies from the Mother Teresa University. She studied ‘Poverty Alleviation’ at University of Sussex and Women’s Empowerment at the Queen Elizabeth House at Oxford University. A 1972 batch officer of Indian Administrative Service, she retired as the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Tamil Nadu in 2007. Earlier she served as Collector of Chennai and South Arcot districts.
She is known as the “Mother of Self Help Groups of women and has written 5 books on women’s empowerment with special foucs on poverty reduction through the self-help group movement in Tamil Nadu. She has over twenty years experience in Health and welfare Sector in various capacities and has served both as Secretary Social Welfare and Secretary Health.
She was a pioneer in starting the Cancer screening programme for women in 1987 and helped the Adyar Cancer Hospital in obtaining the land, earlier belonging to Raj Bhavan. Dr.C.K.Gariyali is associated as a trustee with Equitas since its formation in 2007. As a founder trustee, she has been actively involved in guiding Equitas Development Initiatives Trust in all its welfare activities since its inception.
Ms. Jayashree Nambiar, Educationist is the Principal of “The School”, Krishnamurthi Foundation India,Chennai, and has been as educator for over three decades. She was drawn to education because of the promise and potential for engagement with people and knowledge, freedom and creativity.
As a teacher she has worked with the teaching and learning of history, particularly historiography, and by examining the potential for learning history through first-hand experience, observation and discussion. She has taught English language, and literature, and a course on media.
Mr. Anoop Jaiswal is a 1980 batch IPS officer, who retired as DGP in 2015, after a 35 year stint in the uniformed service.
With a Post-Graduation in Physics, post retirement, he has taken keen interest in education, explaining complex science subjects using simple toys, he has spread this concept to over 70 schools.
He is blessed with a son who is a Professor in IIT, Chennai.
Mrs. D.Sabitha is from 1988 Batch of the Indian Administrative Services. She has held many important assignments in the Government of Tamil Nadu in the past three decades, culminating to the post of Additional Chief Secretary. Her exposure to evaluation, funding, implementing and monitoring of projects especially in the field of Education will add value to the Education Initiatives of Equitas.
Due to her assignment as the Chief Executive of SIPCOT, TANSTIA-FNF and TIIC she has rich experience in developing industrial infrastructure, funding of infrastructure projects in the MSME sector, facilitating private equity investment industrial infrastructure projects in Tamil Nadu. Her tenures in departments of Social Welfare and School Education has helped her to gain knowledge in the social sectors and human relationship.
