Datchayani belongs to the economically weaker section of the society. She resides at Manivakkam where her husband sells fruits for their living. They have 2 boys and Datchayani was a home maker. They had financial difficulties to manage their everyday lives and improve quality life and education to their children. Datchayani was in constant lookout for opportunities where she could contribute to her families financial struggles.
Equitas CSR officers regularly sensitize the community about various skill development trainings we offer which will provide them a sustainable livelihood. Datchayani attended one such community gathering about the skill development trainings offered. She joined our Tailoring Training program hoping to change her life.
Providing employment for 3 people and more on contract model during seasonal festival time
Datchayani with her continuous efforts to succeed in life, managed to start a tailoring unit at Mudichur Road naming the store after her son. This was a proud achievement for her as she was able to succeed by herself and also provide for her family and others. She pays wages based on the profit she makes every month, which helps her to sustain her business.
Now Datchayani has became one of our Trainers teaching others Tailoring to inspire more women.
Datchayani has immensely benefitted from Equitas Eco-system. She is now borrowing for her second time for her business. venture.
Datchayani is one of the many beneficiaries of our CSR initiatives. We can notice how our Micro-finance, Skill Development Training and Guidance has benefitted her to start her own tailoring unit and provide employment to others.
